Welcome to Vacant Lot - the site that aims to put hip-hop quotables in a modern context.

So much clever wisdom and knowledge can be found in hip-hop songs that can be applied to many other areas than just hip-hop. Hip-Hop quotes can be used to describe social, economic, psychological, and humanist situations. Thus, Vacant Lot aims to extract quotes and analyze it for its proverbial context; so that it can be used in everyday language Much of the quotables are in its raw, pure form - to ensure that no translation and/or meaning is lost.
With that said, we hope you enjoy your visit, and we hope that you learn something new from your favourite artist, or be exposed to the vast proverbial urban knowledge that exists in Hip-Hop - from DAY ONE. Don't always believe that Hip-Hop is what you SEE on T.V. - with formulaic flows and repetitive/similar songs, sometimes you have to read between the lines, and listen to what is being spoken to find the true sound.
FOUNDERS
The founders of Vacant Lot is made up of a group of people that love hip-hop. Period.
WE ARE NOT PERFECT ... YET

While we take this initiative to try to apply meaning to your favorite artists' works, we understand that not everything that we interpret will be correct - some of y'all may have noticed that already, and we encourage feedback at info@vacantlot.org
